  As locals to this area, a co-worker and I looked to Mugs and Stitches to complete a small embroidery order that we had. I had always heard good things about the company, and they had been in the area for a while, so I THOUGHT that they would be a reliable option. Boy, was I wrong... Over the years, Mugs and Stiches has moved to several different locations in the Cape Henlopen region. Their current location, that is near the Movies at Midway, on Route 1, is by far their worst location. Basically, what was once a wicker store along the highway, now houses both the wicker store and Mugs and Stitches. From the highway, you can barely even see the "Mugs and Stitches" sign, so it was very hard to distinguish that that was where we needed to take our order. Once we had found the store, and were inside, we were taken into a small back room, that was extremely unorganized and cluttered. I assume that this is what is left of Mugs and Stitches. We were both a little bit uneasy about the setting of the store, but decided to place our order anyways. The woman who we worked with was quite short with us, and very awkward. Placing our order was a little difficult because of this. Regardless, my co-worker and I brushed it off, and tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. After speaking with her again, this time on the phone, the following week, (on the day that our order was SUPPOSED to be completed and ready for pick-up) we realized that this was just the way she treats her customers. To say it plainly, I was offended by our conversation. She is belittling, rude, and vague. Again, she just kind of blew us off, showing that she must not have valued our business. When I asked her when our order would be ready, she said that she'd "call us." Almost a week later, I called again, since I had still not heard from her. Again, she showed absolutely no understanding of customer service, and didn't even apologize for the inconvenience that she had caused us (our embroidery order was time sensitive). On top of that, she couldn't even give us an ESTIMATE of when our order would be ready. Furthermore, she went on to explain how basically a larger and "more important" order was taking precedence over ours. Both my co-worker and I were extremely disappointed in the service, or should I say, lack of service, that we were provided with. In the end, we cancelled our order and took our business elsewhere (when I spoke to her on the phone about this, she seemed as though she couldn't have cared less that we were cancelling our order). From our experience, Mugs and Stitches was an incredibly unorganized, unreliable, and straight up rude company. We will not be taking our business there again.
